Yes. You should try one of the Natural and Organic lines from Sephora. Or you could try Naked Naturals. I included the links to both.

I've also included other links.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) is pretty harmless, though in shampoo it can cause irritation in a very small percentage of people. If you are looking for SLS - free shampoo because you are concerned about your own health, I hope you have taken the following steps first, since they all pose statistically-significant higher health risks.

-Do not drive or ride in motorized vehicles.

-Do not go outside if it is raining, or might rain.

-Do not smoke, drink alcohol or eat food.

-Do not live or work in buildings that are equipped with gas or electricity -

To my knowledge all the shampoos and toothpastes contain this SLS. Though the manufacturers mark it as SLS-free, they have fewer harsh chemicals.

I have come to know that DOVE brand does not really contain this SLS and you can try. Alternately, you can use herbal products like Soapnut, Sihaikai, etc. where you can avoid skin irritation. - List of SLS Free Shampoo and toothpaste?
SLS in toothpaste may cause aphthous ulcers, commonly referred to in some countries as ';canker sores';. However, some studies find no connection between SLS in toothpaste and mouth ulcers.

    Why?

There is no actual evidence SLS does anyone any harm, just rumors %26amp; urban myth. You stand a better chance of dying because you were struck by lightning than of suffering harm from SLS you put on your head....

(Hopefully you don't clean your teeth with toothpaste, wash your skin with soap, or use bubble-bath or dish-cleaning soap. Best not wash your clothes with any kind of detergent, either...)

All these Shampoos use a chemical called SLS which is actually a floor cleaner. They are used so as to produce more foam. Imagine what a floor cleaner can do to you hair and scalp. It will damage the very roots of your scalp.

Check out for SLS in toothpaste too. The tooth pastes damage the gums and the enamel of the teeth. Use the ones which are free from this extremely harmful chemical.

Why do they bother listing the ingredients on the back of shampoos, shower gels, perfumes etc?

I can understand listing the ingredients on food products because we all generally know what they are: water, sugar, salt, vegetables, meats etc. We can check ingredients and pick items according to what we want or prefer to avoid. But what is the point of listing ingredients such as C1-2 Succinates/Hydroxyacrylates Copolymer, Sorbitol, Protonal Hydrocytene, Propylene Glycol, PPG-1-PEG-9 Lauryl Glycol Ether, Tetrasodium EDTA etc? Is anyone actually checking these ingredients before they buy a product?

The ten points goes to the first person who correctly identifies the bogus ingredient. Why do they bother listing the ingredients on the back of shampoos, shower gels, perfumes etc?
They put the ingredients on it because the law requires it. And yes there are people who check to see what is in the stuff before they buy it.

As to what all those words on the bottle mean, it would take a rocket scientist or a chemist to understand that.

The bogus ingredient is Protonal Hydrocytene. I'm guessing, but it's as good a guess as any.

Addendum: Excellent, I sometimes read the labels just so I can see the strange words. I like reading new words. Why do they bother listing the ingredients on the back of shampoos, shower gels, perfumes etc?
In a lot of products, water is a major ingredient. The other ingredients either add color or fragrance or is a preservative. The names sound complicated but can refer to things like formaldehyde, or alcohol which keep germ or fungal growth at bay. Shampoos that are specifically for dandruff/psoriasis control have a tar base that smells very strong. You would be surprised to know that some of the ingredients that you have listed are also found in some household cleaners. As consumers, companies assume the general public only listens to commercials as to what the skin/hair product will do. They don't count on you resourcing. Yes, it is true that ingredients must be listed on products by law. This way if you have an allergy to any chemical they cover themselves by stating it was on the product.
Well, as others have already told you,

#1) allergies ~ I personally am allergic to cocoa butter which is used in a lot of lotions, soaps, and tanning products. My husband is fructose intolerant and cannot have anything with ANY kind of sugar in it - real or artificial - he can only use Aspartame

#2) it's the law because of reason #1

took a while, but Protonal hydrocytene - no such thing --
I used to check the labels faithfully back when they still added formaldehyde to shampoos. I didn't want to use a well documented carcinogen. But now that they don't use that any more I pretty much don't check shampoo or shower gel labels. But if another suspect ingredient is mentioned in the news or elsewhere at least with the ingredient labels being mandatory I'll have the option of looking out for that particular substance. That's my take on it anyway.
I personally always read shampoo labels. I won't buy anything with sodium lauryl sulfate or sodium laureth sulfate in it. I was losing my hair and those ingredients were the cause. They're in many popular shampoos. Many people know if they have problems with certain ingredients, and they DO read the labels.
It is the law that all active and inactive ingredients be placed on products. At one time, people were putting all kinds of dangerous chemicals in dyes and shampoos. My grandad almost went blind trying to dye his hair way back in the olden days. It is for our own protection. We can always look up the words to see how that particular ingredient contributes to the product.
At the hospital, they asked my wife to bring in all the cosmetics/soaps she uses to eliminate or confirm whatever chemical or substance she was intolerant to.

Now she knows what to avoid, she can check all labelling on everything.

Some people are allergic to simple herbs that lots of cosmetics contain
Maybe because some people could be allergic to some of the stuff they use, i cant use any shower gels or soaps with any scent to it they will give me a rash and perfumes give me migraines, but i have to admit i never check the ingrediants. I just know what i can and cant use
How about us that don't think they need to read the directions on the bottle of shampoo and conditioner, Last year I bought these bottle of both and I could feel this weirdest something in my hair, But dumb ole me kept right on using this shampoo and conditioner, It had oil beads in it and you were suppose to activate them by using a hair blow dryer, and I was letting my hair air dry
Believe it or not, there might be someone out there that will drink the stuff. I've heard of people that drank after shave lotion, because they thought there was alcohol in. So I suppose they would like to know that. There are people that ';snuff'; spray paint.

How about a good shot of pure lemon extract?
Legally obliged to provide the ingredients for those people who need to know what they are putting on their heads. I don't know what all the ingredients are, but do know that I am allergic to chamomile which is often in lotions or shampoos.
As you listed a bunch of different ingredients you probably understand that different people have different allergies, listing all that goes into a product will decrease the possibility of some one having issues because of a reaction.
well what if someone is ellergyic (or however u wanna spell it) to an ingredient in the shampoo, whatever... and htey put it on, and they break out... and stuff.

so if we stopped naming the ingredients, all the companies would be sued.
Something to do with FDA regulations. I only read the ingredients in comparison to other brands. Since I am not smart at all I guess I can't compete for your 10 points, isn't that a shame?
One reason is that it's the law. I can't stand anything with fragrance in it, so I read alot of labels. I have several types of allergies.
well, incase you have an allergy to any of the ingredients.

You wouldn't want to come out in red blotches or loose you hair would you?
    Bogus ingredient: Sorbitol.

I am amazed that anyone can read the ingredients without a high powered magnifying glass.
Actually the most annoying thing to me is I have to get a magnifying glass to read it!!!
actually it is important some people are allergic to some of these products and could die so check
I have no idea what those ingredients are, but I do know it is the law to post them.
They want to make regular people like us feel stupid.
cuz if they dont then we could sue them and wouldnt that be a shame

Why do shampoos say ';aqua'; on their ingredient list?

I've noticed looking at the back of shampoo bottles that they often start out with the Latin name for water--';aqua';, ';water (aqua)';, or ';aqua (water)';. Why is that? Is it an industry standard, a historical vestige, or something else? Why do shampoos say ';aqua'; on their ingredient list?
Because they are targeting the increase of hispanic consumers. If all they have to do to get a bigger market share is print some of the ingredients in spanish then they will happily do it.Why do shampoos say ';aqua'; on their ingredient list?
The ';best answer'; seems highly unlikely to me given the information I have found on the Internet (not to mention that many of the other ingredients were listed in Latin using their scientific names), but I guess the people have spoken.... Report Abuse

    its spanish for water
the main ingredient in most cosmetics and hair care products is water. read the rest of the list... can you pronounce ALL of those chemicals? thought not, now why would you want to put them straight on you skin or hair without them being diluted??? they know without the water content some of these could do a lot of damage to you..
In all things with the ingredients written on the back, the main ingredient is always listed first. They are always written from most to least.
Most shampoos are mostly water. I think Agua is spanish for water.
G0d some people are seriously STUPID!!! Ie the 2 guys who first answered this question!!

The poster is saying AQUA not AGUA (Spanish for water) and it is bugger all to do with targeting the Hispanic market!! Why would they put one ingerdient in ';Spanish'; and not a single other word on the bottle???? Geeeeeeezo!!!

Btw I had no idea why they do that other than to sound fancy as if the put posh mineral water in it when really its just your bog standard water!!!

This isn鈥檛 a question it鈥檚 a demand and sticking a question mark at the end of it doesn鈥檛 change that it only makes it grammatically incorrect.

Maybe you should spend a little time learning something about SLS so then you would know it has nothing to do with cancer.

Your scalp is dry and itchy because you were using products with lauryl sulfate. My friends and I use Mineral Indulgence Napturally Free Sulfate Free Shampoo, and conditions hair as well as detangles. There products are 100% organic and are created for women with natural hair, so I think you would like it.

    Good Luck!

http://www.organicconsumer.com - has a list of retailers that sell 100% organic products, and these products are without harsh ingredients.

http://www.wenhaircare.com / http://www.chazdean.com - sells a ';cleansing conditioner'; that you would use instead of shampoo. This gets your hair clean so that you don't have to use shampoo ever again. It's a bit expensive but worth every cent.

Either way, shampoos, even the organic ones, are still drying to the hair if you try to use it every day. The cleansing conditioner acts as a shampoo and conditioner and its safe enough to use every day.I want lists of sls free shampoo?
most of the organic ones are sls free (be sure to read the ingredients) Jason and Giovanni are both good organic brands you can find in a typical grocery store, some place like target. There's a shampoo by vogue now that's called vitamin shampoo that is paraben and sls free. Go to a health/organic store and see what they have. Burt's bees and Jason are going to be the easiest to find.

I have tried so many, over the counters but none really work. I took supplements from pharmacy, anything...you name it, but they don't really work. However, you must maintain at least one type of supplement for hair and nail care, I am now taking silica solution and I went for treatment at Yunnam Haircare salon - I am from Malaysia, this one which uses ginseng to mask and massage the hair really works for me. I have been having hair problems since I was 17...I am now 44, but thank god, I am not bald yet. I am also using ginseng shampoo from the same salon.

However u can do this at home: try using hair tonic, find one that you like, make sure you massage your head every night for at least 10 minutes everytime u put on the tonic. just press your scalp using your finger tips at different points, it helps with blood circulation....well, hair has been my long time obsession.
biotin makes ur hair and nails grow faster and stronger.....thats all i know. i dont think that shampoos can make ur hair grow faster.
I am surpriesd no one mentioned Rogaine. A friend of mine in her 40s was losing and hair and this worked for her. It took about a month to see a difference.
That's a really big theme to open it!
u can use minoxidil which is clinically proven to regrow hair..it comes in 2 strengths 2% and 5%.u can ask your dermatologist to prescribe it.i am using it myself.
USE NEW CLINIC PLUS SHAMPOO. ITS THE BEST. IT MAKES HAIR SOFT AND MANAGAEBLE. FOR MEDICINE, USE ';ZINCOVIT'; TABLETS WHICH ARE EASILY AVAILABLE AT MEDICAL STORES. TAKE ONE TABLET EVERYDAY WITH ONE GLASS OF MILK. IT WILL SURELY WORK FOR REGROWING OF HAIR. YOU WILL SEE RESULTS WITHIN 10 DAYS. YOUR HAIR WILL STOP FALLING.
Take GNC's Hair, Skin and Nails daily vitamins and massage your scalp for 10-15 minutes with aloe-vera gel after washing it. Also, when you don't was your hair every day it falls out less. And don't brush your hair when it's wet- that will cause more breakage thus causing more of your hair to shed/fall out.

Really you just want something residue free, if you can't find anything else in your area, you can just use regular old dish soap : P I know a lot of people that use it regularly and I personally use it often when I go home and don't feel like bringing along shampoo. Some people don't like how strong it is, but everyone's hair is different, you should try it out and see if you like it.

  • Can you list some shampoos or conditioners that don't have alcohol in them?

I've looked in the Supermarket and most of there shampoo's and conditioners have alcohol in them (which is not good for your hair). So if you know of any brands that don't use alcohol as one of there ingredients please post them, oh and i'm willing to go to a salon to get the shampoo so don't say ';just get salon shampoo and condtioner products'; I don't mind if you can only find the product in salons but please list the name brand. Can you list some shampoos or conditioners that don't have alcohol in them?
Sally Beauty Supply carries a brand called Manage Damage that is alcohol free. Just because a shampoo or conditioner has alcohol in it does not mean it will damage your hair. There are lots of different types of alcohol.

The term alcohol refers to several different forms of the ingredient. Alcohol is defined as a colorless volatile liquid obtained by distillation, either by the fermenting of carbohydrates (grains, potatoes) or hydration of ethylene. The fermenting of carbohydrates produces natural grain alcohol. The hydration of ethylene produces synthetic alcohols or SD alcohol. There are over 40 different types of alcohols in use today. Many forms of alcohol will have a drying effect on the hair or skin. While synthetic forms of alcohols may be drying to the hair or skin due to how they are produced, some forms are not considered drying. A synthetic alcohol is more abrasive toward the skin and hair because it is not made for topical application. More abrasive forms of synthetic alcohol may be needed for usage on machines, sterilization, or household cleansers. These are not the types of alcohols you would want to use on your hair and skin.

The types of alcohols used in conditioners are NOT the kind that dry your hair.

Ethanol (the kind of alcohol in beer, wine, and cocktails) is a short carbon chain alcohol (only 2 carbon atoms) that is a good solvent and can remove the natural oils from your hair. Some hairsprays use this kind of alcohol (as a solvent for styling resins).

Conditioners use cetyl or stearyl alcohols which are long carbon chain ';fatty'; alcohols (16 or 18 carbon atoms). These fatty alcohols are not drying at all, in fact, their good moisturizers for hair and skin. Can you list some shampoos or conditioners that don't have alcohol in them?

Let's see, the glucosides could be from a natural source or synthetic. Glyceryl oleate is most likely synthetic, but could be from a natural source, I'm not sure. Coco-betain and betain are synthetic; and fragrance is most likely synthetic, but could be natural since they didn't identify the specific compounds. List of sls free shampoo?

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) is pretty harmless, though in shampoo it can cause irritation in a very small percentage of people. If you are looking for SLS - free shampoo because you are concerned about your own health, I hope you have taken the following steps first, since they all pose statistically-significant higher health risks.

-Do not drive or ride in motorized vehicles.

-Do not go outside if it is raining, or might rain.

-Do not smoke, drink alcohol or eat food.

-Do not live or work in buildings that are equipped with gas or electricity -

To my knowledge all the shampoos contain this SLS.

-List of sls free shampoo?
The sls scare is an urban legend. It's not true so it doesn't matter if there is sls in your shampoo or not. There are companies that promote sls free products just to make money.

Whatever you do...do not use cheap crap from the supermarket. It has heaps of detergent in it which actually strips the goodness from your hair.

Best products are proffessional salon brands like Kerestase, Loreal, Wella, Shwarzkopf, Goldwell and De Lorenzo.

Also it is recomended you do two shampoos and one condition when you wash your hair, this cleanses the hair and the scalp.List a few nice shampoo for women?
Any shampoo that contains coconut oil is the best shampoo u could use. I use Palmers Coconut Shampoo and get lots of compliments on how my hair looks so much better now. The key to healthy shiny hair is coconut oil. Do an internet search regarding the benefits of coconut oil. Trust me, you will be pleased with the results of your hair, once you start using coconut shampoo.
DO NOT use pantene and tresseme as it only puts a coat of wax on your hair. When that coat of wax comes off it causes your hair to break and become damaged. Bifoliage is a good one as well as Paul Mitchell. Dove is a good one considering it is cheaper than the ones metioned above. I dont know how much you want to spend but Catwalk is another good one but it is between $15 and $20 a bottle. Hope I helped! =]
herbal essences. ganier fructis (not sure if it's spelt right but is in a green bottle) these both smell really good and make your hair really healthy. they are both affordable and have a large range of flavors to choose from, as well as a range of different types (for dry hair, oily hair, dyed hair etc) to suit your hair type.

    hope that helped!
i swear by, bumble and bumble.

honestly, its super good for any times of hair

specifically dry hair, although it is a bit pricey, its well worth it

it makes my hair so silky, and i have REALLY bad hair from coloring it all the time.
I currently use herbal essences and it is fine for my hair. I also think 'Aussie' shampoo is good. I agree with the comments above about Tresemme, it is dreadful.
pantene and neutrogena are the ones i swear by.

  • Give me a list of sodium laurel sulfate(SLS) free shampoo available in India?

SLS is carcinogenic. There may not be many shampoos in India free from SLS. And if somebody says that shampoos have to have it, it's not correct. There are many other cleansing agents. Real herbal hair formulations won't have it. You must also look for something more than SLS free shampoo. By eliminating SLS from your shampoo you are taking away the negative but not putting anything positive.

If you are looking for an uncompromising product, which is free from SLS and also contains lots more of good stuff, it is the Segals Solutions shampoos. You will have to select from their wide-range depending upom your hair condition. If you just want a maintenance shampoo, they got that also.

Hope that helpsGive me a list of sodium laurel sulfate(SLS) free shampoo available in India?
They all have to have SLS to make it work. That is the active cleansing ingredient.

You can make your own shampoo with many natural products you have handy. They will all clean your hair. Some are just messy.

If you can make your own soap, you can also make shampoo out of it. There are some highly caustic ingredients in it, but when cooked properly, you can make a very good cleaner for everything.

Be careful you don't throw out what you need and replace it with something much more harmful.Give me a list of sodium laurel sulfate(SLS) free shampoo available in India?

If you are asking because you have health concerns, you will have an infinitely more positive effect on your chances of a long, healthy life if (rather than worrying about internet hoaxes) you wear a crash helmet whenever you travel in a car, a bus or a train. Hundreds of thousands of people suffer serious head injury or die in traffic accidents. To date, no-one has ever died from eating or using products containing sodium lauryl sulfate. It's just soap. It's a surfactant (carbon chain that is polar on one end and non-polar on the other) like a detergent, that allows oil-based %26amp; water-based products to mix easily.

Are pantene shampoo, lucozade drink and doritos in the boycott israel list?

Actually, people could not truly boycott Israel and still use technologies and equipment invented, developed and produced by Israelis.

The ';holy'; Presbyterian Church has warned four U.S. companies to stop providing military equipment and technology to Israel for use in the occupation of the Palestinian territories, or else face a vote by the Church to divest its stock in them.

A church investment committee that met in Seattle accused certain companies of selling helicopters, cellphones, night vision equipment as well as other items used by Israel in its ';forced occupation'; of Palestinian territory. In fact, by international law there is no occupation at all, forced or otherwise.

The accusations of the Presbyterian Church were dismissed as an “outrage” by a spokeswoman for Citigroup, a sentiment shared by several of the other corporations.

How about boycotting the evil church mentioned above?

i love redkin, but sadly, i cant get it cause i dont have money and my dad wont pay for it, so i was wondering if anyone knows any other *good* brands that costco might sell. if not then... my poor hair :(List of good hair shampoo's and conditioners?
Garnier or Pantene Pro V. Both make the TOP3 best list! See this source for why. http://www.beautyqa.com/List of good hair shampoo's and conditioners?
Redken is a good brand. as a stylist, i typically recommend and use only professional products. that said, i have some clients who swear by the Dove line at the drugstore. it doesn't coat the hair like Pantene, and seems to do a good job for the money.
i love redkin too! but it is a little expensive....i would suggest using sunsilk, its on sale a lot, and your hair really feels very soft and healthy. or herbal essences, i hear a lot of good stuff about that shampoo. also tresseme is pretty good too and smells good

but here are the BAD shampoo to avoid:

Prell- my hair came all knotty and tangled

Samys-my hair was really stiff and looked oily

Mane and Tail(or something like that)- its designed for humans and horses and ewww just like prell

I am a hairstylist for 16 years now and work at a very large day spa. My suggestion is to got to a place like trade secretss if you can't afford from a salon. You must understand how to use the product as well . using to much at a time is a waste although most clients will do this. brands I suggets are joico, biolage, and especially kenra. Kenra is an excellent product line that does what it says it does and is fairly inexpensive compared to most salons. the products yopu buy in the drug store use a detergent base to clean your hair and types of waxes to make it feel like it has been conditioned- look up the ingredients and you will see that most of themn are no good. A salon product will last longer and give you long term benifit. because they do not put a buildup on your hair you will find no need to frequently change them. If you need some more advice you can email me back

    merry christmas
I would like to refer you to a website I frequent: Longhaircommunity.com. You will find all sorts of advice about hair, conditioners, even make-at-home recipes that work just as well as the expensive stuff, or better.
What kind of hair do you have?
I don't like redken. I think they all leave my hair dry. I really like the dove line of shampoos, conditioners, and styling products. Those new ';Hairapy'; kinds are great, too.
    ask your stylist
    I like Thermasilk %26amp; Pantene
    tresseme [spelling?]
I personally like Kenra products, but they are pricey. For everyday shampooing, etc. I keep Suave products in the showers for everyone. No complaints, hair is just fine. They even have a clarifying shampoo which we always take to the pool or ocean to help clean all the residue out. It is usually available everywhere. Dollar Stores are a good place to buy it, as it is often less an $1.00 a bottle.
I really don't know what to tell you since I don't know the type of your hair. But Head%26amp;Shoulders is good enough for me, you can find one to every hair type, and it is cheap and lasts for a long time.

    Good Luck!!
Aussie shampoo and conditioner, brilliant stuff
I have a sam's club card, and I believe that they tend to carry the same kind of products, when it comes to this kinda thing. They have Biosilk in the huge bottles(can't find them at any ol'store) and for only around $11.00 each. At a regular salon, etc., the small bottles run about 4x's that much. It works great and smells awesome, too. I am not sure if they carry the absolute nessecity for hair care by Biosilk, which is called Biosilk SilkTherapy--it is a must have, and will repair hair and skin, too! If you see it, get it, one small bottle should last at least 6months+. good luck!! ( if you know anyone with a membership card, they can get you in, or you can ask for a one day tryout at front desk, and that will always let you shop inside.)
i like some of the sami and sebastian products. too steap...try got2b. they have some really good products for all hair types and styles and don't cost as much.
personally i like biolage, but i dont know if cosco carries it... i havent been there since i lived in jersey... i dont really care for other brands....
depends on your hair type, I like to use tresemme

Can someone give me a list of shampoos that keeps ur hair not frizzy and wavy?

i want to buy this product preferably in like target, etcCan someone give me a list of shampoos that keeps ur hair not frizzy and wavy?
I have the same exact hair and here's some products that help it..

Sunsilk Defrizz line. I have the shampoo, conditioner, and 24/7 cream and it works really well.

Loreal smooth intense. This stuff works well too. There's a condioner and shampoo. I don't think that's thee exact name but if you look in the hair product isle under loreal you can find it.

Pantene ProV Anti frizz shampoo, I only used it once but it made my curls smooth and shiny.

Other than shampoos and conditioners, i use john frieda frizzease, I LOVE IT. Whether it's curly/wavy/straight it will get rid of frizz. You can also just use hairspray or mousse on towel dried hair and it won't frizz. I mostly use mousse and TINY bit of hairspray, if you use to much it flakes.

Out of all these I use the sunsilk Defrizz line It's super cheap I got the whole thing (shampoo, conditioner, and 24/7 touch up cream) for like uner 10$ at Target.

Good luck! Can someone give me a list of shampoos that keeps ur hair not frizzy and wavy?
    TRESEMME- nourishing ,moisturizing

    clairol-herbal essences-the one that's for dry hair

    loreal-vive0

those r the only three i use along with their suitable conditioners ...gud luck :) %26amp; they;re not that expensive either so u'l find them easily
matrix ultra hydrating shampoo and conditioner.... you have to get it in a salon and its a bit pricey but i highly recommend it!
i love loreal's line of smooth intense. it has helped me with the frizz ALOT.

however i havent come across a brand to get rid of wavy hair and i have come to terms with my hair. looks more natural

Let me know if you'd like further information on it. The shampoo/conditioner works great!!Where can i find a list of common shampoo's without Sodium Lauryth Sulphate(SLS)? So i can get it at walmart?
All most all of them have it.

    How to no ‘poo

Dissolve about 1 tablespoon of baking soda in just enough water to make a paste. Apply this to your roots only; work it in and let it sit for a minute.

In order to stimulate blood flow, clean your pores and get off built up grime, use your finger tips to scrub your scalp. Start by making a circle on the top of your head in the area you’d wear a crown. Focus on the back of this circle to begin with. Next, fill in the circle. This is where your part will be; grease here affects the way your hair looks. Trace while still scrubbing with your fingertips around the bottom edge of the circle. Keep making scrubbing circles underneath each one, drawing lines in circles around your head.

Lastly, scrub the back of your skull and your temples/sideburns. This will result in less grease and more growth. After doing this, your scalp will feel alive. Many women swear their hair grows faster after a visit to the salon — it does, and this massage method is why.

When scrubbing, you’re actually rubbing your fingers back and forth in short movements. Be gentle; you don’t want to break your hair. Next, pour about 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar into a cup and add water. (I keep two plastic 12-ounce cups in my shower and just mix when I get in.) After you rinse the baking soda out, pour the apple cider vinegar over the ends of your hair, let it sit for a minute and then rinse it out. That’s all there is to it!

    No ‘poo troubleshooting

Remember, there is a transition period from two weeks to two months depending on the person. Here are a few tips:

    • If your hair becomes frizzy, try using less baking soda or leaving it on for a shorter period of time. Adding honey may also help.

    • If your hair becomes greasy, try using less apple cider vinegar, switching to lemon or lime juice, leaving out the honey, and/or using a comb instead of a brush. Also, make sure you’re applying the apple cider vinegar just to the ends of your hair.

    • If your scalp itches, try the following essential oils; tea tree, lavender, rosemary. If your hair becomes dry, try a tiny bit of oil (any oil, I use olive) smoothed on bottom of hair.

(Editor’s note: This Natural Living Des Moines Blog notes the following: “If you’re thinking about trying this method, be forewarned! Most people experience a week or two of “icky hair” while their scalp struggles to adjust to the new routine. I did not experience this transition time, but many do. If you can outlast this period, though, you’ll be rewarded with beautiful, all natural hair and scalp!”)

Ready to make the change? Sure! Don’t be afraid to go no ‘poo. You know how to do it! Enjoy the journey – you’re on your way to a healthier you

http://www.naturalfamilyonline.com/go/in…Where can i find a list of common shampoo's without Sodium Lauryth Sulphate(SLS)? So i can get it at walmart?

Well, better than sodium lauryth sulfate anyway.
    Google it!!!

Where can I get a list online of the amount of things I can take over sea on holiday like shampoo?

You can put any amount of shampoo etc in your checked in luggage. It is the hand luggage that has restrictions. Check out the following link, it should help you.Where can I get a list online of the amount of things I can take over sea on holiday like shampoo?
Check the website of the airline you are using

Checked baggage does not have limitations on liquids as long as they are not hazardous. You need to limit the amount to what you will actually use to keep the weigh low. You can be charged extra for overweight bags plus if your handling your own bags.. you get the idea. Put all liquids in plastic bags. The pressure changes experienced can cause leaks.

Carry on baggage is limited to liquid or gel containers of less than 3 oz/100 ml each. All must be in a single clear one QUART size plastic zIp-lock bag.

On this list of shampoo ingredients, whats not natural?

The main ingredient in shampoo is lauryl sulfate, a detergent. Soap is made from fat and lye. Detergent is made from an organic alcohol and lye. Detergents are better because they carry oils and dirt away down the drain instead of forming an insoluble product like bathtub ring. All the other things you mention are from natural products to start with, although have been altered in the chem lab.On this list of shampoo ingredients, whats not natural?
    Methylparaben.

The citric acid is found in various fruits. Hydrolyzed wheat protein does not necessarily occur naturally. It is from a natural substance, and then degraded a little bit.

Beaten egg works well and is strengthening to the hair as a natural shampoo alternative to chemical products. Use rosemary infusion (just add boiled water and let steep for 10 mins, then drain) as a final rinse to add shine, condition, and remove the ';egg smell'; from the hair.

Use bicarbonate of soda as a natural tooth cleansing powder.

I have a kitty, but I don't have kitty shampoo, from the list below what should/can I use?

    I have dog shampoo

    Regular shampoo

Baby shampooI have a kitty, but I don't have kitty shampoo, from the list below what should/can I use?
If the dish detergent is DAWN, you may use it. But you are not advised to use it for long term. Kitty needs kitty shampoo.

Also, kitty doesn't need a bath if she is not dirty. Kitty knows how to clean and groom herself so she keeps herself pretty clean. Unless she got really dirty, then leave her as she is. :)I have a kitty, but I don't have kitty shampoo, from the list below what should/can I use?
Why are you giving the cat a bath? Cats generally don't need baths - they clean themselves. If fleas are the issue then know that bathing them MAY kill a few fleas but not all that are on the cat and once you put it back down on the floor more will hop on.

You shouldn't use ANY of the above on a cat - go buy some shampoo specifically made for them - IF this cat truly needs a bath.
Cats do not need to be shampood. They are excellent groomers. The only exception is if they've gotten into oil or chemicals and such. In that case they should be handled by trained professionals.
Your kitty knows how to clean itself. A bath is very traumatic for a cat, don't do it. If the problem is fleas, I recommend Advantage.
Baby shampoo will work. You can use a tiny bit of your regular condition afterwards as long as it's not medicated or for anything special. I use VO5 on my cats.
I would use baby shampoo and dilute it at least 50%. Good Luck bathing the kitten, you might want to use those rubber gloves.
You can use dish detergent or baby shampoo. Please do not use dog shampoo, you can make your kitty very sick! (But why can't you buy shampoo?)
Be sure to rinse well, whatever you choose! Kitties lick themselves like crazy when they're wet. You don't want them to ingest any kind of soap.
The vets here said to use ivory dish soap. I think they said it's even gentler than baby shampoo.
I use baby shampoo on my cat %26amp; I rinse him several times, he's nice %26amp; shiney %26amp; handsome.
why do people think that they need to bathe their cats?....unless they are covered with crap or got sprayed by a skunk or something..just leave the cat alone!
i think u should use dog shampoo. but u cant just put ur cat in a tub and spray away, there is a special way
I would use the baby shampoo to wash the cat.
I worked at a vet hosp for many years, we often used dishsoap on animals. It kills fleas like a champ.
you should use baby shampoo on your cats.
cats hate water. do not bathe your cat.

I think that you are talking about the toxins they tested for in all that baby stuff???

    Like Formaldehyde and 1,4-dioxane??

If that's what you are talking about, here is the link to the site where they actually have everything they tested and what had how much of each of the chemicals in it.

i need to know which are the sls free shampoo ,soap and tooth pasteCan anyone provide me a list of SLS free shampoo, soap and toothpaste brands that are easily available?
    Dangerous Shampoo!!!

    Sodium Laureth Sulfate

    SLS

    CLEAR , FRUCTIS ,

Vo5, Palmolive, Paul Mitchell, L'Oreal , Body Shop

All these Shampoos use a chemical called SLS which is actually a floor cleaner. They are used so as to produce more foam.

Imagine what a floor cleaner can do to you hair and scalp. It will damage the very roots of your scalp.

Check out for SLS in toothpaste too!!!

Use the ones which are free from this extremely harmful chemical.

Type in ';SLS Free Shampoo'; or ';SLS Free Toothpaste'; in Google.com to get a list of companies selling safe products.
i麓ve searching too but i麓m afraid we must read very carefully the labels on, if you find more information i would like you share with us

Dove and Pantene products are awesome in my opinion. I always buy shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair or for long hair because it tends to contain more moisture. If you want moisture but think these products might weigh your hair down then just try applying the conditioner at the ends of your hair and not on the scalp, or buy moisturizing shampoo and volumizing conditioner. It's not as heavy.
You can never go wrong with Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine hair products. They work fabulously with my thick hair and they're found in many retail stores. Good Luck :)
Pantene's good and mayonnaise is a great conditioner for dry hair. Good Luck!
VO5 is reeeally good and you can find it at the drugstore. Also, if you want to regain some moisture in your hair, try getting a hot oil treatment for your hair...I got it done once and it got my hair so shiny and it wasn't dry anymore...you can either do an 'at home' one or get it done at a salon (I think mine was $35 at the salon???). Hope this helped! :)
I suffered from this too. Always straightening my hair and being in the sun caused my hair to become brittle and dry. A cheap and easy solution is to put ordinary mayonnaise in your hair, wrap your hair in a warm towel and leave it for an hour. Then wash it off with shampoo and rinse with COLD water. Do this once or twice a week any your hair will be left feeling silky smooth and satin soft!
Herbal Essences. Affordable, and works pretty well I guess.
